The itinerant exhibition “In Favour of Public Space. The European Prize for Urban Public Space” was shown between 3 and 26 September 2008 in the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade. The show was organised by the city’s Institute of Urbanism. As part of the exhibition, a panel session was held on 23 September with the participation of Manuel de Solà Morales (president of the Jury for the 2008 award of the Prize), Josep Ramoneda (director of the CCCB) and a group of urban planners, architects and sociologists from Belgrade. The speakers discussed the importance and future of public space with particular emphasis on Belgrade and cities in transition.
