Shared spaces with Teju Cole, a writer and photographer who explores the city with the unusual gaze of a contemporary flâneur.
The writer and street photographer Teju Cole presented his book Open City at the CCCB in September 2012, reading fragments from it and commenting on them with the writer Patricio Pron. During his visit, Shared spaces spoke with this contemporary flâneur at the Women Yard and asked him about his way of perceiving the city. Among other ideas, the writer-cum-photographer said that the importance of cities resides in the fact of their being "crowded places" and, accordingly, “public space must be open to all kinds of people and to all classes”.
