After studying landscape architecture at the Ankara University, he obtained a master’s degree in Urban Design and a PhD at the Middle East Technical University and, in 2014, completed a course in Visual Analysis with Digital Tools at the University of Göttingen. His research interests are nineteenth-century Ottoman urbanism, history of cartography, and urban cartography.
Since 2013 he has been working in the ARKIV Project which, headed by the Arkitera Architecture Center, aims to document and publish architectural projects carried out in Turkey since 1920. Since 2014 he has been curator of the Turkish Architecture Yearbook, which has been exhibited at venues including Studio-X in Istanbul, the Izmir Architecture Center of the Izmir Chamber of Architects, and the TSMD Architecture Center in Ankara (de TSMD).
