Professor of Contemporary Philosophy at the University of Barcelona

He has been visiting Professor in various Latin American and Italian universities. He regularly writes for the newspapers El País, La Vanguardia and Clarín. He is also the director of the series “Pensamiento Contemporáneo” and “Biblioteca del Presente” published by Editorial Paidós. He is the author, amongst other books, of Hacerse cargo (Paidós, 1999), Cuando la realidad rompe a hablar (Gedisa, 2001), Filosofía contemporánea (Taurus, 2002), Hacia dónde va el pasado (Paidós, 2002) (as compiler) and La tarea de pensar (Tusquets, 2004).
