Katharina Ritter started as a curator of architecture exhibitions in 1994. In 2002 and in 2004 she was responsible for directing Austria’s project for the Venice Architecture Biennale. She has also contributed to numerous publications on the subject. Since 2006 she has been the programmer of exhibitions at the Architekturzentrum Wien, one of the five European institutions working together with the CCCB on organising the European Prize for Urban Public Space.
In 2014 she was a member of the prize jury on behalf of Dietmar Steiner, then director of the AzW, and in 2018 on behalf of Angelika Fitz, director of the same institution.
