Helen Rix Runting is an urban designer, architectural theorist and a founding partner at Secretary, a Stockholm-based architecture practice dedicated to exploring the aggregated architectures of the late welfare state. Secretary designs buildings and performs discourse and research on the city; their spatial installations have been exhibited internationally, including the Tbilisi Architecture Biennale in Georgia (2019), the DesignArt Tokyo festival (2019), the UABB Biennale in Shenzhen (2020), and most recently MPavilion in Melbourne (2022). Helen’s writing has been published widely in a range of international magazines and journals, and she is co-author of the book ‚14,495 Flats: A Metabolist’s Guide to New Stockholm’ (2021). In 2022, she was a guest teacher within architecture/urbanism programs at BTH, Karlskrona; KTH, Stockholm; and EKA, Tallinn; she regularly participates in review panels, critiques, and lectures internationally.
