Žaklina Gligorijević has a master’s degree and PhD in urban planning from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Belgrade and is a former alumna of the SPURS/MIT non-university programme in the United States. She has built a successful career in private and public sectors, and NGOs where she has achieved significant results in sustainable urban development plans and in promoting quality public space.
In the public sphere and the domain of strategic planning, she has engaged in a thoroughgoing task of education and communication, as well as organising national and international rojects, conferences, exhibitions, and design competitions. She was director of the Urban evelopment Planning Section (2002-2003) and of the Urban Planning Institute of Belgrade (2008-2012), and has been an active member of ISoCaRP, International Society of City and Regional Planners (Belgrade) and of the Architects Council of Europe (ACE).
She has been a member of the Committee of Experts of the European Prize for Urban Public Space in the 2012, 2016, 2018, and 2022 awards and presently works as a senior urban consultant in EU and World Bank projects in Serbia.
