Višnja Kukoč has a PhD in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana with a thesis on planning public spaces in the transition from socialism to capitalism.
Throughout her professional life, she has combined architectural practice in studios of Ljubljana and Split with teaching. Since 2002 she has been an assistant professor in Urbanism and other departments in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy at the University of Split.
The results of her research have been published in specialist journals, book chapters, and scientific studies reflecting, among other topics, on public spaces good practices. Moreover, she has worked with architecture and sustainable urban planning projects in European universities and other institutions.
She has contributed to exhibitions in several venues of the main cities of Croatia and the region and is currently head of INOVA, the Association for the Research of Urban Theory and Practice.
