Timo Hämäläinen is an internationally-oriented geographer specialized in urban planning issues and currently works as an independent urban policy consultant as well as the Location Analyst at Nordic Urban, where he works with cities to improve local quality of life by developing floating swim facilities and well-being hubs in their water fronts. Timo has several years of experience in helping cities and the public sector tackle urban issues, including smart mobility and the planning of competitive cities, through research & analysis, strategic policy development and advocacy. Timo is also an established figure in the global debate on urbanism via his blog 'From Rurban to Urban' that has been chosen among the “best city blogs around the world” by ‘The Guardian’. Timo is also part guerrilla urban planner who engages into advocacy projects, such as the alternative master plan for Helsinki, that seek to promote better city-making and sustainable urbanism.
