Lecturer in Philosophy in the Humanities Faculty at the Open University of Catalonia and the Banús Secondary School
He is presently writing as an essay critic for El Quadern, the Catalan-language supplement of the Spanish daily El País. He has published several books, notably El plat preferit dels cucs (The Worm’s Favourite Food), winner of the 1986 Documenta Prize, (Edicions 62, 1987) and Vidas adosadas: el miedo a los semejantes en la sociedad contemporánea (Semi-detached Lives: Fear of One’s Fellows in Contemporary Society - Anagrama, 2006), which was a finalist for the 34th Anagrama Essay Prize.
