Paul Auster (New Jersey, 1947) is an internationally renowned writer of a very wide-ranging career. Apart from his extensive literary production – in which the books The New York Trilogy, Ground Work, The Book of Illusions and The Brooklyn Follies, are notable examples – he has also written scripts for films including Smoke (Wayne Wang, 1995), Blue in the Face (Paul Auster, Wayne Wang, 1995) and Lulu on the Bridge (Paul Auster, 1998).
