Journalist 

Mònica Bernabé (1972), a freelance journalist who has been living in Afghanistan since July 2007, is the only permanently-based Spanish reporter in this Islamic Republic. As a result of her interest in the situation of Afghani woman, which began with her first visit to the country in 2000, she founded the Association for Human Rights in Afghanistan (ASDHA). She is now the president of this NGO, which upholds women’s rights and supports the struggle of members of Afghani civil society for peace and social justice.
