The sociologist Judy Wajcman (Australia, 1950) is an Anthony Giddens professor of Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) besides being a Visiting Professor at the Oxford Internet Institute, a Visiting Fellow at All Souls College Oxford and a Visiting Professor at the Centre for Women in Business at the London Business School. She was President of the Society for Social Studies of Science (2009-2011) and co-editor of The Handbook of Science and Technology Studies (MIT Press, 2008). Considered to be a leading researcher in the sociology of technology from the feminist standpoint, her main research areas are gender theory, the information and communication technologies and organisational analysis. More recently, her work has been concerned with the impact of digital technologies in the field of work, and time regimes in contemporary society. ). In 2013 she received the William F. Ogburn Career Achievement Award from the American Sociological Association in recognition of the contribution she has made with her research into the information technologies.
