Professor with the Canada Research Chair at the Center for Urban Studies, Culture and Society at the University of Quebec, and working on the city and politics of insecurity.
Notable among her books are Changing Toronto: Governing the In-Between the Global and the Local (2007) and The Megacity Saga: Democracy and Citizenship in this Global Age (Black Rose Books, 2002).
