On 6 November 2014, the MAO (Museum of Architecture and Design) in Ljubljana organised a technical workshop for students aged between 12 and 14 at the Nove Fužine primary school. The students talked about public space, its uses and nature in both general terms and with specific reference to their neighbourhood. The aim of the workshop was to raise the students’ awareness about the role of public space and equip them with skills to participate in their city’s growth.

The workshop was the final activity of an educational programme jointly organised by the IPoP (Institute for Spatial Policies) and the Nove Fužine school. Part of the Europe City programme, the seven weekly workshops, which were led by the students themselves, were held in September and October.
For further information, see the news items by MAO and IPoP.
